About Mastersoft

Mastersoft is an Italian company based in Milan that manages fleets of MikroTik devices on behalf of its customers. It has been working with OptiWize for more than three years.

The challenge

Before OptiWize, Mastersoft relied on an in-house system to manage and control its customers' MikroTik devices. It worked, but it had some limitations and was costly to maintain over time.

The real gap wasn't provisioning, already handled by an internal template generator, but centralized supervision: knowing at a glance who accessed each device and what changes were applied. With the previous approach many MikroTik devices were hard to reach reliably, and reconstructing "who did what" took time.

How OptiWize helped

Mastersoft adopted OptiWize as a control and supervision layer for its MikroTik fleet. Through the web interface technicians access devices, see logs of who connects and track configuration changes, with tenant and access management centralized in one place.

The integration coexists with existing tools: the internal CRM/ERP keeps pulling the data it needs, while template-based provisioning stays, by choice, on the custom tool already in production. A pragmatic adoption: OptiWize covers what truly matters without forcing the replacement of what already works, and remains available to integrate provisioning whenever the customer sees fit.

Over time the collaboration also produced targeted improvements: specific requests from Mastersoft, for example around public IP management, were released and proved valuable in day-to-day operations.

Results

  • Immediate visibility: you can see straight away which change was made on a device and who connected, with no manual reconstruction
  • Simplified access: technicians manage MikroTik devices from a single web interface
  • Feedback-driven evolution: customer requests become features released to everyone
  • An Italian partner with the features they needed, chosen after evaluating market alternatives

After more than three years, OptiWize is Mastersoft's go-to tool for controlling and supervising its MikroTik fleet, to the point that going back to working without a platform like this would be unthinkable.
